“Creativity comes from a conflict of ideas.” ― Donatella Versace
Unique facade banners have a major importance in retail as they are the primary tools to draw potential customers to your store especially if it is opening soon.
To exhibit products or services, window banners do not have to be elaborate, but creative and tailored to the boutique’s brand in an eye-catching way.
Having just celebrated their 3rd year as a brand, we are excited about Lati's move to the Northern part of the city to a new boutique at Al-Imam Saud Road! As much as we enjoyed it, we would like to share with you the new boutique's "coming soon" facade banner. But first, let’s take you on a tour to explain the process we have adopted before finalizing our selection and choosing the winning banner:
Our ultimate aim for Lati’s new window display banner was to mark Lati's presence in the new location as an evening wear boutique at the bustling Imam Saud Road in Riyadh that attracts residents from the capital's vein King Fahad Road along with the two other intersecting roads Takhassussi and Olaya.
As a first step in the process, Blue Hatters were asked to come up with at least 6 creative ideas for the new boutique facade banner. After brainstorming and discussing the ideas, we have narrowed down the options to three different. They had to include the following:
- Lati's logo and Brand Elements
- Dresses: to mark that it's an evening wear boutique
- Opening Soon message
- Website: to connote that customers can shop online
- Brands: to reflect that it's a multi-brand boutique.
Here were the options that made the final cut:
“Design is thinking made visible.”

The facade banner for Lati’s opening soon boutique is a glimpse of its personality.
This option's rationale had the core purpose of creating anticipation around the new boutique by storytelling. Inspired by Lati's weekly illustrations that appear on its instagram & facebook accounts, option 1 shows Lati's persona that represents the modern-day fashion-savvy Saudi woman carrying Lati's iconic shopping bag and announcing the new opening.
Creativity plays a very important role in making window displays attract people passing by. To mark Lati's territory at Al-Imam Saud road as a shop that sells evening wear, why not display a series of dresses and accessories as if we're looking into the boutique? The concept showcases the new collections of different brands in a style of colorful illustrations.
To think outside the box, we brought Lati’s iconic shipping box to the window display. This box has been a source of joy and inspiration to Lati's customers. It has been photographed on social media by many customers. Even bloggers have enjoyed Lati's unboxing experience and have featured it on their youtube channels. The facade banner highlights the package of Lati in an inspirational way to recreate the joy that comes when unboxing a gift!
...AND THE CHOSEN ONE WAS:
Option 2: boutique illustrations because it ticked the following points:
1- It anchors Lati at the new area as evening wear boutique for ladies
2- It show that Lati is multi-brand boutique with a variety of collections
3- The illustrations work perfectly with the structure of the facade (check how the door opens below)
4- There is enough breathing space for the big-scaled logo and the coming soon message to be visible for dozens of meters away
5- The illustrated dresses represent actual products available at Lati
