Interior Designer Vacancy (WOMEN ONLY)

We are looking for a skillful Female Interior Designer to join our dynamic team at Sum + Things.

If you spend time fantasizing about room arrangements and home accessories, then this vacancy is right for you. At Sum + Things, we are aiming to launch our own boutique interior decoration and design services and we need your help to bring it to life. We tend to value long-term relationships, creativity, and meticulous characters along with technical knowledge in interior design and decoration. Required skills

- Minimum 4 years of experience in Interior Decoration and Home Accessories
- BS Degree in interior design or similar industry
- Rendering and execution skills needed
- Efficient in using software such as Autocad / Sketchup / 3D max
- Knowledge in home accessories, color palette, furnishings, furniture design, & compiling moodboards
- Communication and project management skills, open minded and attentive to details
- Willingness to work independently as well as learn and collaborate within teams
- Readiness to adapt to clients’ taste and budgets

Responsibilities

1. Meet Directly with Clients
Meet directly with clients for brief and feedback before, during, and after working on their project. In the initial meeting, the interior designer/decorator gathers information related to the client’s budget, timeline, and aesthetic and functional preferences.

2. Research and Planning
Research the market to follow up on the latest trends in home decor and home accessories.

3. Push for Cross-sales
Promote items from Sum+Things or curate items from designers and brands that Sum+Things has links with or exclusivity agreements on a regular basis.

4. Develop Decorative Plans and Moodboards
Develop several decorative plans and moodboards and present them to the client. During this process, you must also determine whether a plan is feasible based on a client’s budget and timeline, as well as, accessories that could be secured in KSA.

5. Select Decorative Elements
Select a variety of decorative elements and accessories for a client’s home, office, or other space (such as a retail store). Working within the client’s budget, you can choose wall paint colors and finishes, lighting, furniture pieces, and textiles such as rugs and upholstery, and a variety of home accessories. You may also select art to hang on walls or feature on shelves.

6. Install and Arrange Decorations
Determine where to place the selected furniture and home accessories. In this aspect of the role, you should consider both aesthetic and practical considerations, with particular emphasis on unity and flow of the space. After initially placing decorative elements, you may edit and rearrange the room on their own or with client input to ensure optimum results.

7. Manage Budgets and Schedules:
Manage budgets and schedules throughout the decoration process. Budget management involves not only ensuring that decorations and furniture stay within the client’s budget, but also ensuring profitability for Sum+things by not exceeding deadlines and meeting clients’ expectations.

8. Direct Subcontractors
When requested, oversee and direct the activities of subcontractors, such as: painters, floor refinishers, or carpenters, and ensure these subcontractors complete their work according to schedule and without causing excessive inconvenience to the client. 

9. Reporting & Planning
Report back to Head of Retail / Owner of Sum+Things and coordinate with them on every step of the project by providing briefs, client’s feedback and a clear milestone plan to project completion.
