Challenge

The COVID-19 pandemic has led governments, employers, workers and the general population to face unprecedented challenges in relation to the virus and the many effects it has had on the business life. 
For International Labor Day 2021, ILO approached us to work on an awareness campaign and video series tackling the rights of domestic workers in the GCC. 

Intervention

For the awareness campaign, we collaborated with a freelance illustrator to create visual narratives called “Neighborhood Tales”. We developed the video further to ensure that domestic workers’ stories are told and that awareness is raised through this crucial campaign.

 
 

Results

One of the videos tells the story of Anwar, an inspiring and resilient woman who is working in Kuwait to support her family and is dealing with the hardships of the COVID pandemic.
